Renny Ponvert
President & CEO, Director of Research
Renny has an extensive background in private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and investment analysis complemented with senior operating roles. Prior to founding Management CV, Renny spent several years in the private equity industry where he identified and led the leveraged buy-out of Media General Financial Services in 2003 and subsequently served as the Company's CEO and later as the President of combined roll-up entity Hemscott, Inc. until its eventual sale in 2006. Prior to his private equity experience, Renny was a co-founder and CEO of DataJungle Software and served as the Managing Director of the Worldscope financial database before it was acquired by Thomson Financial in 2000. Early in his career, Renny worked at the Value Line Investment Survey whose influence is evident in Management CV's ranking system approach. Renny is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and serves on the advisory board of FirstRain, a news and information search company.
Jeff Burnett
VP Sales & Client Services
Jeff heads institutional sales and has 15 years experience in investment research. Prior to joining Management CV, Jeff had been Director of Research for GARP Research & Securities. Previously, Jeff was an investment analyst at CIBC Oppenheimer mainly covering the Software industry. In earlier associate positions at Oppenheimer, Smith Barney and Nat West Securities, Jeff covered the automotive and consumer products industries. Early in his career, Jeff spent several years in the consumer products industry in sales and marketing at the Gillette Company and market research at ACNielsen. Jeff is a graduate of the Babcock Graduate Business School at Wake Forest University and the University of Richmond.

Alan Brochstein, CFA
Generalist
Alan has over 21 years experience in the securities industry as analyst, trader and portfolio manager. Prior to joining Management CV, Alan established an independent research firm working with a select group of clients and publishes commentary on seekingalpha.com where he is one of the site's top read authors. Previously, Alan was a portfolio manager, responsible for all technology and healthcare investments, at Piedra Capital Management. Alan is a former head trader for fixed income securities at CSFB Investment Management, and early in his career was a fixed income sales person at Kidder Peabody. Alan is a graduate of Northwestern University and is a CFA Charter holder.
John Escario, CFA
Quantitative Analyst
John is our lead quantitative analyst and brings over 16 years of experience in portfolio risk analysis, index construction, statistical and time-series analysis, and other quantitative methods used in the construction of equity portfolios. Before joining Management CV, John spent 9 years at Rydex Funds, a pioneer of ETF derivatives, where he was involved in a wide range of portfolio construction and tracking activities. He was extensively involved in developing the Rydex Alternative Strategies Allocation Fund and served as one of the principal architects for Rydex's proprietary stock ranking model and the Rydex equity Hazard Model. John was also an instrumental player in developing the initial equity indexing process for the Rydex Sector Funds. Previously, John was an assistant to the Chief Investment Officer at ICMA Retirement Corporation, overseeing mutual funds using a multi-manager strategy. Early in his career he worked at GIT Investment Funds in various analytical roles. John is a graduate of Virginia Tech and is a CFA Charter holder.
Michael George
Generalist - CEO/CFO Changes
Mike is responsible for providing timely "quick take" analysis on important management changes in the Management CV coverage universe. To do so Mike uses a combination of event driven news, MCV's proprietary ESR Model which creates synthetic career returns, and MCV's structured due diligence template. This allows him to quickly analyze specific CEO and CFO changes and assess their likely impact for investors in a statistically significant way. Prior to joining Management CV, Mike was with Blackrock, Inc. working in their Custody Operations group. Previously, he worked for the Vanguard Group in their Fixed Income Financial Services group and their Corporate Financial Services group. Mike is a graduate of Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia and sat for his CFA Level III test this past spring.
Robert Moses, Jr., CFA
Senior Healthcare Analyst
Rob leads our Healthcare sector research with a focus on Pharmaceutical and Biotech. Rob has covered Healthcare for nearly twenty years as a buy-side analyst. Prior to joining Management CV, Rob at Blackrock and its predecessor companies for ten years, where he was most recently a Senior Analyst for Healthcare and Information technology stocks in the US Active Large Cap Value team, a portfolio with $9 billion in equity assets. Previously, Robert had been at Bank of New York where he headed research coverage of the Healthcare and Financial Services industries. Early in his career Rob was a small cap growth portfolio manager at AMAS Securities where he focused mainly on the healthcare, financial services, technology and the chemicals industries. Robert is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and is a CFA Charter holder.

Logan Chandler
Partner - The Strategic Offsites Group
Logan has extensive experience in designing and facilitating strategy offsites for senior executive teams and Boards in a diverse range of industries, including financial services, technology, food service, professional services and manufacturing. He has an encyclopedic mind for management theory and practice. His areas of expertise include strategy formulation and execution, strategic alignment and growth best practices. He is a co-author of "Off-Sites that Work" in the June 2006 issue of the Harvard Business Review. Logan previously practiced corporate law for several years with Wilkie Farr & Gallagher in New York. He has a BA and a MBA from Penn and a JD from Northwestern.
Jim Lonergan
Former President & COO of TheStreet.com
Jim has spent many years building financial information businesses that target both professional and retail investors with a focus on product development, operational execution, sales and marketing, and leveraging technology. Jim Lonergan has a very successful track record in creating shareholder value through his deep understanding of the Internet subscription and advertising business models. He has held leadership roles over the years as COO of Worldly Information Network, COO of Thomson Financial Corporate, and COO of Technimetrics. Jim also spent a number of years working on the buyside for Alliance Capital and SunAmerica Asset Management in both a sales and investment decision process roles. He has a BA in Political Science from Villanova and an MBA in Marketing from Fordham University.
Alison Mackey, PhD
Assistant Professor - California Polytechnic State University
Alison is an Assistant Professor of Management at CalPoly's Ofalea College of Business in San Luis Obispo, CA. Previously, she was an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University's Mays Business School. Alison teaches and conducts research in the areas of strategic management, executive labor markets, and corporate social responsibility. She has had her research published in top academic journals such as the Academy of Management Review . Her research on CEOs and executive labor markets was recently recognized by the Academy of Management Business Policy and Strategy Division as one of the most promising academic contributions from young scholars. Alison's 2005 working paper "How Much Do CEOs Influence Firm Performance - Really?" was a formative part of Renny's idea for Management CV and provides a meaningful and quantifiable attribution to the CEO factor in public companies. Alison graduated with a BA in economics and an MBA from Brigham Young and then earned her PhD at The Ohio State University.
Gary Mitchell, J.D.
Portfolio Manager
Gary is an active equity portfolio manager and analyst for an established investment advisory firm in Baltimore, Maryland. As an investment practitioner, he spends a good deal of his time evaluating public-company management teams and interacting directly with CEOs and CFOs. Gary is a self-described "process person" and is helping MCV refine our rigorous due diligence methodology for evaluating and analyzing public company management teams. His legal background is particularly valuable in understanding the complexities and nuances of SEC filings and the regulatory environment for public companies. Prior to joining his current investment advisory firm in 2005, Gary practiced law for thirteen years. He has served as a corporate attorney for two S&P 500 companies in New Jersey (Lucent Technologies and then C.R. Bard) with a particular focus on corporate, securities and regulatory law, as well as mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance. He previously practiced at the law firm Sidley & Austin (now Sidley, Austin, Brown & Wood) in New York. Gary received an A.B. from Harvard College in Economics and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He lives in Baltimore, Maryland.
Doug Holmes, CFA
Portfolio Manager
Doug is an experienced portfolio manager with an unusual blend of fundamental and quantitative asset management experience. Doug was formerly a senior manager at Rydex Investments, in Rockville, Maryland, where he managed the Stock Selection Group, Asset Allocation, and was a member of the investment leadership team and the Risk Committee. Prior to Rydex, Doug was the department head for State Street Global Advisors' Global Enhanced Equity Group. He worked at SSGA from 1984 to 2003 and was a member of the investment oversight committee. He also spearheaded the product creation of SPDRs, was the department head of the Active Quantitative Group ('92-'95), and chaired the ethics committee while at State Street. Doug holds a BS in mathematics (High Honors) from Northeastern University and has been a guest lecturer at the Harvard Extension Program and at Boston University.
